Theme 1: Robotic Prosthetics: Lower Extremity

WalkMECH is designed as passive transfemoral prosthesis to assist walking with energy storage and recycling between joints and WalkMECH2 can assist during weight acceptance and sit to stand additionally. Now WalkMECHadapt is under development to adapt different walking speeds and environments. Additionally, Ankatron and BioMekneetron are designed as fully active robotic ankle and knee prosthesis, respectively to achieve fully robotic transfemoral prosthesis that enables natural leg behavior and assist to stair climbing. Moreover AnkleMECH is also designed as a passive ankle prosthesis that has 3DoF and can assist ankle push-off generation. Now Ankatron is under further development as a fully active robotic ankle prosthesis that is enabling natural ankle motion with 3DoF and full push-off assistance. Since all of these are interrelated and all of them are under continuous progress we’re looking for team members who are interested to work on any of these devices or bring new concepts.
